Location
Vanora Villa is situated on a beachfront
/ waterfront property in a very private
location at Brown's Bay. This bay is
located on Antigua's east coast and is part of
Nonsuch Bay. The villa is just footsteps
away from the water. Contrary to what one would
expect from the Atlantic side of the island, the
water at Brown's Bay is calm, as it is
protected from the open sea by a reef.
For this reason swimming and kayaking are
good and safe in this bay, and also
off-shore snorkeling is good fun..
About
Brown's Bay and the East coast in general:
Antigua's east coast is
the unknown gem of the island. It's the more
quiet part of Antigua, unspoiled, idyllic and
lesser developed.
Lesser developed doesn't mean lower quality. On
the contrary: Several Celebrities have
chosen this part of the island for their holiday
homes. The prestigious residential Mill Reef
Club is located on the east coast.
Membership at Mill Reef Club cannot be obtained
with money - membership is by invitation only!
Also the beaches are not of lower quality
either. Just think of Half Moon Bay,
which was voted one of the world's Top 10
Beaches by the US Travel Channel.
And - last but not least - another famous
"institution" in Antigua: Harmony Hall.
This superb Italian restaurant with art
gallery, located on an old Sugar
Plantation property is a MUST-see, when
visiting Antigua. And as you know, all good
things come in small numbers, and therefore
Harmony Hall (regretfully) is only open during
the winter season, and this only for lunches.
Insider-Tip: Restaurant guests at Harmony
Hall can enjoy a complimentary water taxi ride
to close-by uninhabited Green Island for
a few hours of swimming, snorkeling, exploring
and basking in the sun.
"Busy" English Harbour
with its Yachting Community, bars, restaurants, shops, etc. is
approx. a 30 minutes drive away.

Vanora
Villa is perfect for a group of friends or a
family with children of any age, who are looking
for a quality and secure seaside vacation
home in a private and tranquil location,
which is off the beaten track. If you
like to take maximum advantage of your holiday
villa, relax by the pool or seaside, and don't
wish to go out for meals every single day, then
this villa is certainly a very good option for
you.
Vanora Villa was
built on one level and offers several
verandahs and decks, so that you can be in
or out of the sun and in or out of the sea
breeze, whatever suits you best. All 3
bedrooms are air-conditioned, enjoy ocean
views and have direct access to the sundeck
with its private Pool.
The kitchen
has been fully equipped with modern appliances
including a dishwasher. The kitchen's serving
hatch with breakfast bar opens up to the
living room / TV lounge. Adjoining to the TV
lounge you have your ocean view, indoor
dining room with your private drinks bar.
For outdoor
dining there is a large covered verandah,
which faces the tropical garden and is being
accessed from the
kitchen / living area. For outdoor
entertaining you may choose between the
covered ocean view verandah or the seating area
on the sundeck. We don't know, whether Antigua
really has 365 beaches, meaning 1 beach for
every day of the year, but Vanora Villa surely
has enough verandahs / decks for (almost) every
member of your group....
Harmony Hall
(open during winter season), one of the best
restaurants on the island is within
walking distance
and provides a complementary water taxi for its
guests to close-by Green Island for a beautiful
day of swimming,
snorkeling and basking in the sun.
Just a 5 min drive away located is the
Nonsuch Bay Resort. Enjoy a lunch or dinner
at The Club House Restaurant.
Or go sailing or kite surfing within the
protected bay. Sailing and kite surfing
are lessons available!
Good to know
!
The waters at Brown's Bay are sheltered, and
therefore you will find sea grass beds in the
shallow parts. While it's just like normal
grass, but under water, guests who are not
familiar with sea grass might prefer to wear
swim shoes.
Sea grass plays a very important role in the
food chain, as for example fish and turtles do
feed on it. |

It
is what we were looking for in terms of
private water frontage. Wow.
Vanora Villa offers a lovely setting,
complete with sailboats, yachts and
pristine water views.
Additionally, the 10 minute drive to
Half Moon Bay beach was delightful.
Please mention this spot to future
renters. We went on several occasions
for the white sand and spectacular bluff
views. A small store for convenience
items was only a few minutes away, too.
We
enjoyed Falmouth and English Harbor
area, beautiful, historic.
The
size of the home was perfect for our
family of 5, offering comfort and space
for all of us.
I would
also like to thank you for the
arrangement of services from Calvin
Francis and his cooking crew. We hired
them for an additional night of dining,
for a total of 6 dinners. It was well
worth the cost, so that we did not have
to drive in the dark! The food was great
for both adults and kids.
I would
recommend the home to privacy-seeking
families, like ourselves. We were away
from the bustle of the other side of the
island. It was just as described and
perfect for us. It is a glorious
waterfront property which would be
wonderful to own!
You
